Margaret Lines Up More Operations After Successful Hip Surgery
Monday 13 March 2017

Delighted patient Margaret Clarke is lining up more operations at Rowley Hall Hospital after being boosted by a successful hip replacement.

Margaret is thrilled with the surgery which has given her vastly improved mobility after she had battled bravely through the pain barrier for the last two years.

The 71-year-old was referred to Rowley Hall by her GP and attended for an initial consultation where she found out more about the hip replacement operation and what it involved.

Just weeks later, she attended for the operation which was delivered by surgeon and hip replacement expert Sabur Malek.

Now Margaret, who lives on the doorstep of Rowley Hall, is hoping to have knee surgery at the hospital next.

Margaret, of Stafford, said: “Rowley Hall is just around the corner from where I live and I’d been to the hospital before so I knew about its excellent reputation.

“I said straight away that this was where I wanted to come and have my hip replacement because as well as being convenient it also provides a first class service.

“I wasn’t disappointed. The whole process was well organised and the surgeons and staff were absolutely fantastic from start to finish.”

Hip replacement surgery is extremely popular with patients of different ages and makes a huge difference to their quality of life.

Patients can pay privately for their hospital surgery at Rowley Hall which reduces waiting times considerably.

Margaret added: “I’ve been struggling with my knees for a while as well as my hip so I’m going to have them done next.

“I feel wonderful now and I’m much more active again. Even just the simple things, like getting into the car, was a struggle but it’s easy again now.

“My advice to anyone who is struggling with pain in their hips or joints, is if you can do something about it and have surgery just go for it as it will make a huge difference to your quality of life.”
