Gallbladder Surgery – January 2017 - Consultant: Mr Khan
“At first the GP thought I had an acid reflux problem but after taking medication it made no difference and I was still experiencing the same problems. The pain was affecting my work and was making my day-to-day life uncomfortable as it became progressively worse.
“When I went back to the GP and discovered it was my gallbladder that was the issue Rowley Hall was suggested to me as a hospital that offered the surgery I needed. I hadn’t been to the hospital before but I was prepared to travel for the surgery that I desperately needed.
“The consultant Mr Khan was excellent throughout and I knew I was in good hands. I was just so pleased to have the surgery so soon after meeting him for the consultation, without any real waiting times.
“The atmosphere at Rowley Hall was so calm and peaceful and all the staff were friendly. I didn’t need an overnight stay as the surgery was done in a day but the hospital had a very homely feel to it.
“I would recommend Rowley Hall to anyone and would have no hesitation in coming back here again.”

Hip Replacement – Consultant: Mr Malek
“It has been a difficult time for me because as well as being in such a lot of pain and discomfort, my hip problem was also restricting my mobility and movement. I couldn’t do the things I took for granted and moving around the garden at home, which is a good size, was one of them. You almost just learn to live with the pain and discomfort.

“When Rowley Hall was suggested to me as a choice of hospital by my GP surgery I liked the look of it straight away. I thought at my stage of life it would be nice to be pampered in a private hospital so I had no hesitation in choosing it for the surgery. 

“I had to postpone a holiday when I was given the surgery date but I was really struggling at the time and I wouldn’t have enjoyed the holiday so it was definitely the right decision to have the operation.”

“The consultant, Mr Malek, was calm and reassuring from the moment I met him and the whole process was organised and professional. The other noticeable thing was how happy and friendly all the nurses were and they couldn’t do enough for me during my time at Rowley Hall.

Knee Surgery - Consultant: Mr Sinha
“I’m absolutely thrilled with the operation. It couldn’t have gone better for me and I feel a completely different person.

“Everything was such a smooth process at Rowley Hall, from the way I was handled by the consultant, to the wonderful staff who looked after me on the ward and the physio team who have helped me to get back on my feet afterwards.

“I love my golf but I was being realistic and thought that there was no way I would be able to play for three months or longer but I was up on my feet within days and then I was back playing again within three weeks.

“This surgery has been life changing for me. I fractured my left leg badly in the late 1990s and as a result my right leg and knee has weakened a lot as a result, to the point where I could hardly walk.

Spinal Surgery – Consultant: Mr Ahmed
“I’ve suffered with neck, arm and shoulder pain for a number of years. Waking up every day in severe pain is not pleasant and it gets you down. It was limiting my life so much as well. I was literally struggling to do anything even the simple things and I couldn’t drive because I couldn’t turn my neck properly to one side.

“The operation at Rowley Hall has lifted a dark cloud which had been hanging over me for a long time. As soon as I had had the operation I knew that something had changed. I just couldn’t feel the same pain which I have lived with for such a long time.

“The best thing about the treatment at Rowley Hall is that I have been kept in the loop about everything from the word go and Mr Ahmed explained the pros and cons of the surgery to me and what not having the surgery would mean. I’m glad I opted to have the surgery but I admit was slightly petrified, I think you are bound to be with this type of surgery, but Mr Ahmed made me feel at ease throughout.

“At Rowley Hall you also get to know the staff and the hospital has a homely, close-knit feel which I really like. It’s very different to a mainstream NHS hospital. Thanks to Mr Ahmed and the wonderful staff at Rowley Hall I feel so much more positive now the pain has subsided and I can focus on getting my life back.”
